A Legacy of Lakeside Gatherings
Lake Salem Cottages - 07IMG_3078 - Copy - Copy
Since the 1940s, Lake Salem Cottages has been more than just a vacation property - it's been the backdrop for generations of family stories. What began with Mary and John Ainsboro has remained a cherished family enterprise, passed down through the generations to Wayne and Isabel Newell, Robert and Madeline Page, and now to current caretakers Rob Page and Julie Roehner.

Our four historic cottages sit on a special peninsula of land between Big Salem Lake and Little Salem Lake in Derby, Vermont, offering a unique setting where families can gather together while maintaining their own private spaces. This perfect balance of togetherness and privacy has made Lake Salem Cottages the ideal destination for family reunions, multi-generational gatherings, and group retreats for more than a century.

Join Our Lake Salem Family

While many of our weeks are reserved by returning families who have been coming to Lake Salem for decades, we welcome new guests to experience the magic of these historic cottages and perhaps start their own family tradition.
Whether you're planning a family reunion, a multi-generational gathering, or simply looking for a place where your group can enjoy both togetherness and privacy, Lake Salem Cottages offers a setting unlike any other - where timeless summers create endless stories, and every stay becomes part of something bigger.
